Nanaimo Parkinson’s Support Group (NPSG) strives to improve the quality of life of People with Parkinson’s (PWP) and their care-givers in the Nanaimo area. We maintain this site as a resource to help PWP in the Nanaimo area locate services, manage symptoms and find others with whom to share their experiences living with this disease.
Nanaimo is a small city in the mid-island region of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada. About 110 km northwest of Victoria, Nanaimo is the Island’s second largest city with a population of just over 83,000.
The NPSG existed for at least 10 years but we do not at present have detailed information of the history of its formation. Anyone having any information about its past is encouraged to share it with us.
If you sign up to be a member of the NPSG, you will receive regular emails with information on relevant activities or events. Monthly meetings are used as a forum for members and non-members to ask questions and share experiences.
We are affiliated with Parkinson Society British Columbia (PSBC) which is an excellent source of information on all aspects of PD.
