Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease

The PSBC web site page on Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) classifies anyone diagnosed between the age of 21 and 40 as YOPD. Some sources such as the American National Parkinson Foundation set the upper age at 50.

The Parkinson Society of BC has an online support program for anyone with YOPD that takes place the second Tuesday of each month. More details can be found on their Support Groups page at the bottom under the ONLINE option.

The PSBC has a link to an online booklet entitled Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease: Advice for those newly diagnosed from individuals currently living with YOPD.

There is a private “YOPD BC” Facebook Group. Parkies only!
